Random Updates!

These last few weekends I have been speaking at some Rolling Hills Covenant Church Sunday Schools for spiritual and financial support. Aside from my fear of public speaking, I am still alive and happy to report that they went well. It is so comforting to have people encouraging me, believing in me and praying for me on this journey!

As the new year approaches, I am getting more and more excited to start really preparing for my move.  I am most excited to reconnect with the children I got to know and love in August, and to continue to encourage their walk with Jesus.  I am also very excited to see my Romanian friends I met while we worked with Calvary Chapel Bucharest!

As much as I am refusing to admit it, I am a little nervous about the weather.  But I am ready for change, so bring on the snow in the winter and the extremely high temperatures in the summer!

It is crazy to think that this time next year I will be preparing for Christmas in Romania! I cannot wait to embrace their traditions, and spend Christmas with the children who stole my heart in Bucharest!  As excited as I am about next year, I am enjoying this Christmas season with my friends and family who I will be missing next year!

Hope you have a very Happy Christmas and healthy and blessed New Year!

Garage Sale!

My next step in getting to Romania is to begin fundraising for my living costs there.  I decided on a spur of the moment garage sale.  6 days earlier, to be exact. I sent out emails to collect donations and the response was outstanding! Throughout the week, I collected tons of furniture, bags of clothes, and random things you never expect to sell, but do.

Saturday morning, my family and I woke up at 5:30 and got set up for a long morning.  Shout out to my siblings, parents and good friend, Drew for helping me at that brutal hour.

I survived the early morning with the help of donuts and coffee donated by Linda Guido and Dee Benson. (Dee also donated her dining room set and leather chairs- BIG sellers! Thank you!)

Overall, the garage sale was super successful! All of the furniture sold, and the remaining clothes and shoes were donated to the Salvation Army.
