New Years in Romania!

3 weeks later I am finally blogging about New Years Eve in Romania. Slight delay but it’s here nonetheless. On New Years Eve, we all met at the church at around 8/9 and spent the entire night together. I didn’t leave church until 8am the next morning.

The night was filled with karaoke, dancing, fireworks, and two huge meals. One meal was BBQ at 3am.  It was really fun for everyone to get to spend time together and just have fun. December was a really busy month for us all and New Years Eve was a time to just celebrate! Here are some pictures from that night!

In two weeks Club Ricochet is starting again. This time we are focusing more of teaching the kids who Jesus is and going to disciple them through the next couple of months. My goal before I was came here was simple.  Try and bring children to Christ, try and have a deeper relationship with these kids, and try and get people from church involved with these children so that when I leave, they continue to work with them.

Obviously the last Club Ricochet helped me develop relationships with these children. I also couldnt have done anything without the help of EVERYONE from church.  Not only does it show the kids that everyone from the church loves them and accepts them, but it gives people the chance to serve.

Like I said, we start working with the kids in a couple weeks.  Please pray the children are excited to come back and spend time with us and that they accept our new format and new “theme” for this next session.  Rebecca and I have been working hard to adapt discipleship books for these kids so it is simple, fun and easy for them to understand.

Next week is my 8 month anniversary being here! I know I say this all the time, but the time is flying. I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve with great people, and be involved with great children who I love so so much.

Thank you all for the continued support and prayers while I am out here. I am handling the weather the best I can (although the worst is yet to come) and not missing home as much as I thought I would at this point. God has put each and every person here in my life for a reason, I am learning a lot, and trying to enjoy every single moment and I know this is an opportunity of a lifetime. I am so blessed to be here!

Hope you are all doing well! I will be blogging more regularly when we start working with the kids again!
