Camp funds…

Hi everyone!
I want to start by saying a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to this camp so far. It is incredibly encouraging to know that we are not alone in wanting these children to be a part of this great experience.
I wanted to update you on where we are financially. Thankfully it is good news! After looking over our budget we readjusted our camp budget to 5,000 US dollars. We COULD do the camp in $4,500, but we would have to leave out camp pictures, a camp shirt, and possibly an ice cream or souvenir for the kids on our day out. We have an amazing staff for this camp who are continuing to work very hard to get the most ‘bang for our buck,’ but we felt like the children should be able to have a nice printed picture of their time here, a camp shirt to remind them of what fun we had, and a candy apple as we walk around the medival ruins on our field trip!
The great news is, out of the $5,000 dollars we aim to raise, we have $3,500. We have had some donations from England and a lot from Romania that are not recorded on this website. The best part of this is the donations from Romania. Although all the money we have received is greatly appreciated, it is so amazing to see Romanians donate to the children in their community.  They see that the children go without many things and want to be a part of financially helping them have an experience of a lifetime.
Again, thank you for all the donations already. We are so thankful for all of the support we have received and are excited to fundraise for a few more weeks to complete the financial aspect of camp! I can’t tell you how excited the kids are for camp, it is all they talk about!

I will be in LA on Wednesday! I am so excited to see everyone!

Easter in Romania!

We celebrated Easter this last Sunday, May 5. We had a church service and then a huge BBQ with AMAZING food. Don’t worry, I took pictures! The next day, we had the kids come to church for songs, a short film, and games! After all that, we had a BBQ for the kids too, which was a real treat for them! Here are pictures from the last weekend.  If you are hungry, I apologize!ImageImageImageImageImage

Happy Easter from Romania!

Sport Saturday!

Here are some more pictures of the kids, Dana, Dan and I playing football a couple weekend ago! It was SO HOT! Over 90 degrees! Thankfully we brought lots of water and apples for the kids. After we played for a couple hours we had a picnic with sunflower seeds and just spent time together and talked.  Something I will miss when I am gone so I am trying to enjoy the time I am spending with them as much as possible, even if it is 90 degrees!ImageImageImageImageImageImage
